Thomas Richards, Chief Executive Officer
Thomas Richards is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Knowledge Management Training Institute (KMTI). Mr. Richards oversees the Institutes' strategic planning, business management, contract administration, and provides a full spectrum of oversight to all KMTI operational areas.
After graduating from the Air Force Academy with a Bachelor's in Business, he went on to earn a Master's in Business Administration. During three of his 22-year military career, he served at the Air Force's premier instructor development course, the Academic Instructor School (AIS), where he trained Air Force and other DoD personnel to teach in diverse educational environments using state-of-the-art technologies. He is also a Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM).
Mr. Richards brings worldwide operational perspective to KMTI, gained in the Pacific, Central America, and Middle East during assignments as an RF-4 crewmember, with the Army as a Brigade Air Liaison Officer (BALO), and in various command and control (C2) capacities in the Air and Space Operations Center (AOC). He is no stranger to the staff, having served in Major Command and Headquarters Air Force capacities.
Dave Flick, Chief Knowledge Officer
Dave Flick is the Chief Knowledge Officer for Knowledge Management Training Institute (KMTI), the educational arm of Triquetra Technologies, Inc. Mr. Flick oversees KMTI's curriculum development, delivery, and demand generation.
Two weeks after graduating from high school Mr. Flick enlisted in the Navy, and during his first year of service received a Secretary of the Navy nomination to the U.S. Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Science. He went on to earn two Master's degrees, one in Information Technology Management and the other in National Security and Strategic Studies, at the U.S. Naval Post Graduate School, and U.S. Naval War College respectively. Additionally, Mr. Flick is a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM) with extensive experience as a Surface Warfare Officer. He culminated his military career as an Information Professional Officer while serving as U.S. Joint Forces Command's (USJFCOM) Joint Enabling Capabilities Command (JECC) Knowledge Management Officer (KMO).
Mr. Flick retired from the Navy in May 2011, and served as the KMO for North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Training Mission – Afghanistan / Combined Security Transition Command – Afghanistan (NTM-A/CSTC-A). During this year, he led a team that established a highly successful KM program from the ground up, and was recognized by the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF)/United States Forces-Afghanistan (USFOR-A) KMO as the theater "standard." Mr. Flick is passionate about KM, education, and increasing the effectiveness of the military and other organizations through process improvement.
